Lowcountry Produce and Lobeco Farms: Our Beaufort Adventure

We woke up to a beautiful Saturday morning in mid-November and were searching for an interesting place to visit....somewhere we had not been and somewhere that would get us away from the thoughts of our classrooms and into the sunshine and near the water.  Food is always an integral part of our outings, too.  So, Lobeco Farms won out but not as a "restaurant choice".....for it's peach salsa.  We packed a picnic lunch, grabbed some sunglasses and a camera and we were on our way.

I discovered Lowcountry Produce while searching online for peach salsa....something I love but have never made.  They do an incredible online business shipping homemade salsas, jams, chutneys, pickles, preserves, and gift baskets.  They also house an in-store restaurant, picnic area, and shop.  It really IS a farm and not a shop meant for shopping but, again, peach salsa!

Lobeco Farms was a stop on the road to Beaufort-where my oldest son was born nineteen years ago. So, a visit there was in order as well.  Beaufort is a great, historic city located on Port Royal Island.  We picnicked on the bay along the Intra Coastal Waterway, had some brotherly bonding time and toured the historic district-lots of art galleries and antique shops with a real quaint village feel.  While we enjoyed the sunshine and ate ice cream, we reminded ourselves that it was 28 degrees and snowing on our friends in West Virginia.  We enjoyed another beautiful Saturday, saw where Brandon was born and to steal a good friend's tagline........"Another Saturday in South Carolina and the livin' is eeeasy!"  Check Lowcountry produce or order online....but, definitely try the peach salsa!
