Okay. To those of you from the South, I will apologize now. I realize that to many of you, this fast food restaurant is probably not blog-worthy because of its' "fast food" status. However, I am blogging about Moe's anyway!
This is right off of their website:
"Founded in December 2000 in Atlanta, Ga., Moe's Southwest Grill is a fun and engaging fast-casual restaurant franchise serving a wide variety of fresh, made-to-order southwest fare.
The first thing you'll hear when you walk into the restaurant is an enthusiastic "Welcome to Moe's!" It's more than a greeting; it's a way of life for the folks who customize each meal fresh to order right in front of the guest.
While Moe's is best known for its burritos packed with a choice of over 20 fresh, flavorful ingredients, the menu also features kid's, vegetarian and low-calorie options. And all meals are served with free chips and salsa."
Not just chips and salsa. They have a salsa bar. Those of you who know me well, know that chips and salsa are one of my deserted island foods. You know, what would you take with you to eat if you knew you were going to be stranded on an island?
Anyway, I will never turn down an order of their black bean nachos topped with fresh veggies, jalapenos, banana peppers, black olives, cheese and salsa. Can you say yum-o? Oh, that is definitely a Rachel Ray-ism. Not sure if I am allowed to use that term but it absolutely works!

The rest of my family laughs at my nacho ordering. Everyone else dotes on Moe's humongous burritos. Make your choice of chicken, tofu, beef,or black beans. Then, choose your toppings- all fresh and delicious. They put it all together as you pick it all out and roll it up. Think Subway but Tex-Mex style. Anything that fills this 16 year old up works for me!
So, if you are looking for a healthy alternative to "traditional" fast food, you absolutely need to check out Moe's. Locations are everywhere throughout the south. Make your tummy happy. Visit Moe's. Order some black bean nachos. Smile.
Happy Thursday from Charleston Treasures!
