Welcome to 2012! Is it not an incredible feeling to start fresh? To begin a new year with new ideas, new goals, new challenges? I am welcoming you into this year and hopeful that you are as delirious as I am about 2012.
I really didn't feel that way even a few weeks ago but something triggered excitement in me. Maybe several days away with the mister? Maybe the prospect of the eight of us sharing the holidays? Maybe the promise of more beautiful sunsets like this one above? I took this photo the second night of our Christmas break. We met friends at this spot for dinner. Gorgeous. No? We were looking for some calm in our lives. We wanted to start the holidays off on the right foot. We had to give my dear Mom a proper send off as she was starting her new life in California the following day. It was one of those bittersweet nights for us. The beginning of our Christmas celebrations. A good-bye to her.
As I welcome you into this fantastic new year, I am also celebrating the birthday of my blog as well. One year today! Happy Birthday to Charleston Treasures. Last New Year's Day, I felt the need for some inspiration. A creative outlet. A reason to get moving each day. My school days were tough and we were still adjusting to a new life here in Charleston and I needed something that brought me joy. So, the creation of Charleston Treasures came about as the mister and friends were watching football and the kiddos were enjoying Christmas presents. I still feel blessed that the blog idea came to me just when I needed it!
In the hope of sharing my excitement this morning, I thought I would post some of my favorites from the past year. Click on the photo and it will take you to the post. My wish for you is that you are enjoying the possibilities for 2012 as much as I am. Check out these posts and Happy New Year from Charleston Treasures!!
