I guess I should start with Happy New Year! Actually, I should probably back up just a bit more and say Merry Christmas.....better late than never, right?
Our holidays came and went in a blur. A good blur. A cookie blur.
A company blur. A gift-giving blur. A rich, chocolately blur....
The kind of blur where we spend a lot of time planning meals and setting the table...
And, changing sheets, buying extra toothbrushes for college kids who can never remember theirs and all-around enjoying our days.
It was a good break. A sweet holiday. And, we are so ready to begin 2013!! Don't you just smell change in the air sometimes? I feel change. In my lungs, that is. I have been battling a cough for four weeks. Two anti-biotics and some steroids and I am finally feeling human.
And, I have to share this picture with you.
Doesn't it make you smile? We were a bit goofy this holiday but now it's time to set some goals, begin my college work (!!!) and get back to the daily life that we have seemed to have left behind for two weeks. Speaking of goals...one of my goals is to teach my youngest two sons to cook. You guesssed it! They both got cookbooks for Christmas...
Rachel Ray in pictures is GREAT for fourteen year olds. So far, the results have been pretty tasty and I would not have imagined the sense of accomplishment that it has brought to two, initially, mildly-irritated boys. Ha. They will thank my some day.
So, we are off and running into 2013. Excited. Goal oriented. Rested. Relaxed. Ready to take on the year. I hope this beautiful, sunny, Lowcountry Saturday finds you feeling the same.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and from Charleston Treasures....Hava a GREAT Saturday!

Great post for the first day of Epiphany...both a beginning and an end. Looks like you all had a great season with much joy.
