The Duke Pitchforks~

My father-in-law continues his journey.  He is still beating the odds and my mister is still by his side.  We are missing the mister terribly here but are glad that he is where he is most needed.

Yesterday, he was doubly missed because we had tickets.  For birthdays and celebrations, we have been working to give experiences and not stuff.  Stuff we don't need and other people don't necessarily want.  So, we attend stuff instead of give stuff.  Isn't that a funny way to put it?  We love concerts, art shows, grand openings, dinners out!  We love to people watch and see what is going on in the world.

My Mom had her 67th birthday nearly two weeks ago and we got her tickets to see the Duke University Pitchforks.  The concert was last night at Circular Congregational Church.

The church itself is an incredible downtown community and the concert benefited HALOS.  The Pitchforks are a group of elite, acapello singers and they put on a super high-energy concert.  We really enjoyed it!!

Gratitude for the 39th day of the year, yesterday, was definitely felt for these guys and the grace that God is sending to my mister and father-in-law.  The Pitchforks return to Charleston every year to do a benefit concert for HALOS.  If you missed them this year, definitely keep them in mind for next year!

Hope you are having a great Sunday!  We are off to Newberry this morning for another concert.  This one is an early birthday present for our youngest son~again, experiences instead of "stuff".  You'll hear all about it soon!

Enjoy what's left of your week-end and Happy Sunday from Charleston Treasures!

  1. I like the idea of giving experiences instead of "stuff," which we have been doing unconsciously!
